Solved problem & Glow Party & Salisbury

Despite all the mess with the subjects, in the end I chose a unit with my schedule and that, as far as it goes, it´s quite interesting. It´s called Magazine Design and I´m sure it´s well known for you because it sounds like another unit I am studying, Making Magazines. At first, I was reluctant to choose it because I thought the content would be too similar but it was the only one which could be fixed in the timetable. I had considered all the possibilities so I had no choice but to accept. I wanted to start the subject because I wanted to know what it was going to be about. The lecturer explained that this subject is more related to fashion and he will teach us some new design programs. We must take our own pictures and write our articles. I realized that it was very different from the other subjects so I was calm. The teacher is very young and but I see he seems quite strict. I'll tell you more about him as I get to know. Otherwise, the week has been fairly quiet because there were just some presentations of the subjects. In general, I liked them all, especially Broadcast Journalism; although I already had it before, now we are starting to drive professional video cameras and it´s more directed towards the world of television. Apart from that, on Wednesday we had another party because it was the birthday of a colleague, the Glow Party. We had a very good time, as usual and it was different because the girl decorated her house with great detail. After the flat party we went to the pub, Bliss. There were lots of people and we were all enjoying ourselves like children. I put some pics here.

During the week, we had been planning a trip for Saturday. We thought to go to Brighton, Bristol but we finally chose Salisbury because it was closer to Southampton and we saw that it was a better option because we just wanted to spend one day there. It is a small but very pretty, typical English city. The shame is that it was very cold. Anyway we were about thirty people and the freezing walks became pleasant ones.

                               

Uni starts again

As we told you on Thursday, we went to the court. It was a bit disappointing because we found no cases of particular relevance to be published in a newspaper. Anyway, it was a new experience useful when searching for news stories, as long as there are interesting cases, of course. The rest of the week was pretty relaxed because we still had the old times and many of the classes had been cancelled. Still, on Friday I had my English class in which we said goodbye to our teacher, who is no longer in the second semester that begins today. The good thing began that Friday. My friends organised a party at home because they wanted to do as an opening one and they had never done any kind of event. The particular aspect was that the condition for entering was to go barefoot to avoid staining the carpet too much. When people came and found out this peculiar condition, they was surprised but agreed with pleasure. The bad thing was when the party finished and everyone had to find their shoes ... there were a couple who stayed there and we wondered how people had gone home ... It was a great party, we met many peopleof the uni that we hadn´t ever seen and we had fun. I put some pictures.

And that's not everything. On Saturday, we had another invitation. In this case it was a pirate party so we bought all the gadgets needed and we went to the house of other friends. It was hilarious and people took it seriously dressing. We spent almost five hours dancing like crazy and the truth is that we also had a great time. Yesterday it was time to rest, more than anything, because this week, it´s uni time and I will have more units than before, in the last semester. In addition, I continue looking for this subject that I needed to complete the credits. Today I'm going to talk again to the coordinator to see what I can do. The schedule changes this semester, I have more classes starting today; Monday is not free like last year ... but I'm beginning with strenght and I will tell you how it will go. I´M BACK

Hello everyone. First of all, happy New Year! I hope that 2011 brings you good times and exciting projects. Although I arrived at Southampton on Saturday, classes didn´t start officially until yesterday. I spent almost all day at university because I had to meet with several teachers to discuss the subjects of this semester.I´ve been also working on the travel magazine I have to do for Wednesday. I was spending the day like that, nothing really exciting. I have many problems setting up my new schedule because many of the subjects coincide and I have to change everything in order to fix it. Therefore, I´m afraid I have to change Political Communication, which seemed really interesting for me and I´ll probably choose Inside Multimedia News. Anyway, I´m not sure about this decision so I will tell you what I´ll do a.s.a.p. This week is quite light because some of my classes have already finished and we handed in our projects so we should just wait for the feedback. On Thursday, I have the Court visit. I´ll go with my classmates and lecturer of Broadcast Journalism to see if we can find any piece of news in the Justice Palace. I´ll also tell you about this experience. This everything at the moment.

CLOSED FOR VACATIONS

Yes, I know people will be wondering why I was out of here. I have to say that last weeks were full of uni work although you missed my trip to Brighton, the Andalucía´s party, a snow fight, the Cowboy Party and another trip to London (including Heaven and Hell´s party!). All I can say is that I spent great times with my friends but I also worked hard to achieve my Academic goals. Now, I´m writing from Spain to let you know that my blog is still alive and I will be back in January with lots of stories, experiences, trips and anecdotes. I also want to apology for my absence but I´m sure next year (2011) I´ll get my strength back and I’ll be sharing my feelings with all of you. I´d also like to thank everybody who visits my blog because it makes me keep writing! At least I put some pictures of the adventures I couldn´t tell you because of my lack of time! Enjoy them and imagine how great all those experiences were!

Another London weekend!!!=)

Yes, as you can see, I came back to London!!! I´m in love with this city!! Everytime I go, I enjoy myself a lot!
This time we had an excuse. One of my friends had lost her ID and she didn´t have her passport so she has to go to the Spanish embassy to make it because if not, she couldn´t come back home for Christmas. Therefore, as a good friend, I decided to go with her! We bought a cheap ticket and went there! It was going to be an adventure because we hadn´t buy the return ticket because we expected one friend to gave us in a lift to come back to Southampton on Monday. We caught the train at 5am and arrived there at 7.30am more or less. It was so empty that we could enjoy the typical famous places alone. I has never seen London without almost anybody in the streets, obviously it was really early and Saturday. We went to a cafe to fill time and after that, we met one italian friend to leave our suitcase in her friend´s house so that we could sightsee freely. Before visiting anything, we went to the embassy. It was quite crowded so just my friend went into the building. I took advantage of this time to visit Chelsey (great quartier that my father recommend me to go and I can say it was worth it) and I also went to Harrods where I met my friend again. We decided to make a different tour this time, we knew The London Bridge, The Buckhingham Palace, and the Big Ben by heart (exaggerating) so we wanted to change it and go to other places. Then, we went to Candem town and Oxford Street because we wanted to go shopping. After that we went to the house of the girl and got changed to go to a party in a loft located in The Canary Wharf which is a major business district in East London. We had lot of fun and then we came back to the house because we were recommended to visit Portobello Market and Soho before going back to Southampton. The weekend was great because finally we arrived home by car and thinking about how amazing had those two days in London been!

Hawaian Party!!!

Well, yesterday I went to the gym and then to my classes. I handed in my magazine pages and everything was ok so I was really happy not only for that but also for the Hawaian Party! Some friends and I organised this party. It´s being really cold and we thought that making parties inside the residence would be a great idea. We made an event on Facebook and people started to join the party.
The day arrived and we enjoyed so much! we were wearing some Hawaian clothes and we bought a pineapple to take our drinks.
The bad thing in the following day....and that we were making lot of noise as the security told us....=)

Different weekend!

On Friday evening, we had a party in Miriam´s friend´s house. It was one Italian´s birthay and we went there to celebrate it! I didn´t know them because they aren´t in my classes but I met them and they were really nice! Almost everyone was from Italy apart from come guys who were from Ireland. We were partying there eating some cakes (too many birthays...) and then we went to Vodka Revolutions to continue the party! We were dancing and talking to them and I really enoyed until the club closed and we had to go home. This time, Evelin didn´t come because she had to do a presentation so she stayed at home.

On Saturday, I went to the gym when I woke up (and it was late, believe me) and then I called my friends to know if we were going to so something special or just staying at home. They told that there were going to organise a dinner so I went there and we were talking with our German´s friends till late. We made some pictures and chatted the whole night.

Yesterday, my day off, and today, I´ve been finishing my magazine pages for the heavy magazine, yes I know it´s never-ending but i´m quite worried because it´s the first time I design a magazine, well, at least, two pages of a magazine so I spent all my time doing it and going to the gym in my spare time.
