Superhero party & St Patrick´s day!

Finally another theme party arrived. As a preparation for the carnival, we decided to attend to the party organised by some friends. The theme was Superhero party so we decided to customize our own clothes to create a superhero team.
It took quite a big effort to buy all the materials and prepare our costumes but it was worth it! There is more to see in the pictures!

As for St Patricks Day... It was a very special day here in Southampton! Many events were organised  far and wide the city but, as usually, i couldn´t go because of uni work... just before Easter, I was pretty busy finishing work at the university and i was quite stressfulNevertheless, I was lucky enough to celebrate the day at home with my flatmates, eating some delicious cookies that we have been preparing during the afternoon. It was a very "familiar".

After finishing all the work we began to enjoy the good weather in Southampton, in addition to think a thousand plans for our vacation!
I had the opportunity to travel a lot, meet new people and visit lots of charming places!

I am currently in Spain, enjoying my family and friends but on 24 I'll be back in Southampton, to take full advantage of recent weeks about the people I've known.

Don´t miss the next few posts in which I will talk about my travels and download some pictures for you to know somehow, all the places I visited.

See u!

My friend Stuart

In my defense, I have to say also that not only am I busy at the uni but also I'm sick with a bad cough. I sleep badly, I get tired and that might explain my temporary abandonment. At the beginning, when we talk about some work timeout we tend to think that we have plenty of time to do it. Many times we trust and let pass the days until we realise that the deadline has come and it's time to put the batteries if you want to get high marks. Unfortunately, this happened to me. I get the feeling that I have enough time dedicated to my university projects but, yes, there's always time to have fun and enjoy this experience ERASMUS. In fact, lately we have had several visits and this entails taking the time to entertainment ... so now as I write I realise I don´t live so bad ... the months go by and we feel quite upset thinking this is going to have an end because we see how people are already leaving because they have finished their period of study abroad.

Why this picture?!? Maybe today will be the decent pic day because we don´t have any...

All this verbiage comes to mind because I want to pay special tribute to a great friend who is leaving. I met my friend Stuart back in October and, from the beginning, we were very good friends. I consider him a great person and although he´s going to Glasgow and it´s not so far from Southampton,
I'm sure we will miss him very much. At least, I am calm that we will see you and you will come to visit us as well (I hope). Although from now on anything won´t be the same without you, little cheerful boy, we will keep in touch and we will try think that we we will see each other very often. By the way, thank you for the nice farewell dinner we enjoyed with you yesterday. To avoid suffering, I will continue writing on the blog by putting up with everything I do. I will do that because I know that you usually have great times reading it. Keep smiling, Stuart. I will miss you!

Amazing Amsterdam

After this temporary abandonment .... finally long-awaited entry is here .... Surely, many of you'd be expectant to the destination of my trip and here it is .... Amsterdam! I can only say good things about this special experience and one of them is that I will travel there again without hesitation. The trip was a bit tiring because we were sleeping at the airport as the flight was very early and we had no other choice. We departed from Gatwick and we went directly to Amsterdam airport where other friends were waitig for us. We arrived at 11 am and we went straightforward to the hotel but not before seeing some of the most characteristic streets of the city. The hotel was conveniently located near downtown and easily accessible for tourists so it was really comfortable to us because everything was close to the hotel. We were fortunate to participate in a tour through this city and knew a little more about its history. I was fond of the beauty of its streets and the charm of its canals. In the tour, we learned that the "Venice of the North " is quite old because, after the II World War, it was not reconstructed but kept the infrastructure. The streets are very wide, full of bikes that are tied to the railings of the canals. I thoroughly enjoyed the city which surprised me very pleasantly. As I said before, I am counting down the days to come back to visit this city. I upload some pics

I hope you like them!=)

A promise is a promise

I´m here again to upload the photos I told you last week. As you could see we were lucky to enjoy a really sunny day in Southampton. Afterwards, I´ll write another post telling my trip to a European city I went last weekend with some friends. If you want to know the destination, keep checking the blog=)

Laura & Belén in Southampton

This week I was lucky to enjoy two of my friends. They came from Spain, from Zaragoza, to visit me and see a bit of what Erasmus life is like. I have to say we had a great time and enjoyed a lot. They were visiting the city, especially the shops, when I went to class and then we were all partying to also know the nightlife of the city. We think to go to Winchester or London, but finally we decided that it was best to look deeply Southampton, visiting all worthwhile. For me, it was a rediscovery of the city because we went through streets that I still didn´t know and for them it was really fun. We were lucky that it was a warm sunny day when we took a tour of the docks and saw the medieval walls surrounding Southampton. It would be great that we would have seen the Titanic but I think it was too late...haha
I will upload some photos when my friend emailed them to me. I promise.

Solved problem & Glow Party & Salisbury

Despite all the mess with the subjects, in the end I chose a unit with my schedule and that, as far as it goes, it´s quite interesting. It´s called Magazine Design and I´m sure it´s well known for you because it sounds like another unit I am studying, Making Magazines. At first, I was reluctant to choose it because I thought the content would be too similar but it was the only one which could be fixed in the timetable. I had considered all the possibilities so I had no choice but to accept. I wanted to start the subject because I wanted to know what it was going to be about. The lecturer explained that this subject is more related to fashion and he will teach us some new design programs. We must take our own pictures and write our articles. I realized that it was very different from the other subjects so I was calm. The teacher is very young and but I see he seems quite strict. I'll tell you more about him as I get to know. Otherwise, the week has been fairly quiet because there were just some presentations of the subjects. In general, I liked them all, especially Broadcast Journalism; although I already had it before, now we are starting to drive professional video cameras and it´s more directed towards the world of television. Apart from that, on Wednesday we had another party because it was the birthday of a colleague, the Glow Party. We had a very good time, as usual and it was different because the girl decorated her house with great detail. After the flat party we went to the pub, Bliss. There were lots of people and we were all enjoying ourselves like children. I put some pics here.

During the week, we had been planning a trip for Saturday. We thought to go to Brighton, Bristol but we finally chose Salisbury because it was closer to Southampton and we saw that it was a better option because we just wanted to spend one day there. It is a small but very pretty, typical English city. The shame is that it was very cold. Anyway we were about thirty people and the freezing walks became pleasant ones.
